Who says you need a dedicated hour for exercise? By integrating these simple tips into your daily routine, you can gradually build fitness without sacrificing your precious time or disrupting your lifestyle. So, put on your walking shoes, crank up the tunes, and start making every move count!
1. Take the stairs whenever you can.
Every step counts. Taking the stairs throughout the day is a simple way to sneak in some cardio and leg work. Take the stairs when you can, even if just for a floor or two, and climb escalators that you have to use.
2. Park your car further away.
Instead of searching for the closest parking spot, park a little further away and enjoy a walk as you head to your destination. This small adjustment adds up, especially if you do it consistently. Plus, it can help you avoid the frustration of circling a crowded parking lot.
3. Swap screen time for active leisure.
Take a walk with a friend or coworker in person or over the phone as you walk. Go for a bike ride with friends, explore a new hiking trail, or play a game of pickleball. These social activities not only get you moving but also boost your mood and connect you with your loved ones.
4. Combine entertainment and fitness.
Multitask by binging your favorite tv show, music or podcast while walking on the treadmill or taking a walk on the track. You can also complete household chores such as cleaning, gardening, and vacuuming that engage your muscles while burning calories. Even walking your furry friend can help you to move consistently, especially when you have a busy schedule.
5. Take an express fitness class
View the group exercise schedule on our website or within the center mobile app to explore group exercise classes that fit your schedule. This minimizes the pressure to complete a workout routine on the fitness floor. It also gives a start and stop time to work out so that you can continue with your day.
